Maxim as a teenager, full of potential and restless boredom. I have included digital avatars from three of his favourite computer games, bringing them into the portrait as phantoms, spirits, helpers, or digital aspects of an extended self. These avatars have allowed Maxim to experiment with different codes of conduct and behaviour over a period of years, and continue to play a role in shaping his young adult identity.
